Features

Physics, not guesswork.

No AI estimates, no cloud magic. Golf Radar measures distance over time, using your club's real length as the on-screen ruler.

Frame-by-frame tracking

Lock the exact frame the ball leaves the face, advance a few frames, tap the ball. The app converts pixels per frame into real ball speed using your device's recorded frame rate.

Your club is the ruler

Driver, iron, wedge or putter — pick your club and its real length calibrates the scene. Fine-tune it to match your own set.

Record or import

Shoot with the built-in high-framerate camera, or import any slow-mo swing already in your gallery.

Slow-motion aware

Slow-mo metadata is detected automatically, or set the factor yourself — 1×, 1/2×, 1/4×, 1/8×, 1/16× — so the math always stays true.

Pinch-to-zoom precision

Zoom deep into the frame to drop calibration and tracking dots with pixel accuracy.

Offline & private

No account, no uploads, no internet needed. Every frame is processed locally on your iPhone.

The readout

One number that
actually means something.

Import & trim

Pick a swing video and isolate the moment of impact.

02

Find the impact

Step frame by frame to the millisecond the ball leaves the face.

03

Calibrate

Drop a dot on the top of your club, its sole, and the ball.

04

Track & read

Advance 1–3 frames, tap the ball again — your speed appears in mph.

FAQ

Golf ball speed questions.

Common questions about measuring golf ball speed with just an iPhone.

How does Golf Radar measure ball speed without a launch monitor?

Golf Radar analyses a swing video frame by frame. You mark the top and sole of your club — its real length becomes the on-screen ruler — then tap the ball across two or three frames after impact. The app converts pixels per frame into real-world ball speed using your device's recorded frame rate. Pure geometry and physics, no AI guesswork.

Is Golf Radar free on iPhone?

Yes. Golf Radar is free to download on the App Store for iPhone and iPad. It works with slow-motion swing videos you already have in your gallery.

Which iPhone do I need for accurate readings?

Any iPhone or iPad able to record slow-motion video works. For driver ball speeds above 150 mph, 240 fps slow-mo (iPhone 8 and newer) gives the sharpest, most accurate readings.

Can I import an existing slow-motion video into Golf Radar?

Yes. Record inside Golf Radar or import any slow-mo clip from your gallery. The app reads the embedded slow-motion factor automatically, or you can set the multiplier yourself — 1×, 1/2×, 1/4×, 1/8× or 1/16× — so the reading stays true to real-world speed.

How accurate is Golf Radar compared with a real launch monitor?

With a stable phone, a face-on camera angle and at least 120 fps, Golf Radar is typically within a few percent of a hardware launch monitor — accurate enough to track progress, compare clubs and benchmark your swing.

Is Golf Radar available on Android?

Golf Radar is currently available for iPhone and iPad only.
